Over the city.

Nearly everything is

Made for walking distance.

A wonderful amount of

Special places to go,

Sights to see,

And people to meet.

Close ties I

Have with this place.

Understand, it is where I was born.

So much history

Etched into every brick of

The roads and buildings.

Take a walk around. You'll

See what I mean.

Endured

A lot in our little car,

Driving all day

And way

Into the dark.

O,0

But cheer!

We're here!

Now at last,

First we'll unpack,

then maybe...

Crash.

On a Road-trip

I'm in a car, going fast!

Outside the scenery rushes past.

On a road-trip, going far.

Highway signs and other cars.

With windows down, the breeze is strong.

The stereo plays a funky song.

Bopping my head to the beat,

I wonder when we'll stop to eat.

I'd like to take a break and stretch,

But I won't complain, and I won't *kvetch.

I love road-trips, in fact I'll bet

You won't hear me say "Are we there yet?"

So sitting in the backseat, notebook in lap

I'll close my eyes and take a nap.

*Kvetch is a Yiddish word that means complain or make a fuss.

Also, the picture is almost exactly what our car actually looks like. ^_^

Knowing you

Knowing you has been a pleasure

Your friendship I will always treasure

Knowing you has given me lots

of cool ideas and great new thoughts

Knowing you has been a ride

I'm glad to have you by my side

Knowing you, I've changed so much

The sky feels close enough to touch

Knowing you has turned my world

Upside-down and flipped and twirled

Knowing you, I've read many a book

I probably wouldn't have given a look

Knowing you, my days are brighter

And I've become a better writer (I hope!)

Knowing you, I feel so free

My words come out like poetry

Knowing you are my best friend

Is something I hope never ends

Knowing you is like sunshine

You're unique, silly, one-of-a-kind

Knowing you, I'd like to say,

"I wouldn't have it any other way"

(I don't need to say it, but even so

Some things are simply good to know. ^_~)

Knowing you, you're smiling now

And so for you, I'll take a bow

Sometimes I wish I could be very small.

A fly on the wall,

Not seen at all.

Invisible, I'd watch time go by.

Peaceful nothings, dreams and sighs.

Sometimes I wish I were big as can be!

For everyone to see

The spotlight on me!

I'd rule the world, have tons of friends!

Adventure, excitement, the fun never ends!

These 2 opposite parts of me

Make up my personality.

Sometimes I look in,

Sometimes I look out...

Maybe that's what life is all about
